Looking on the bright side!

Hi mamma!!!
How are you? I loved you email this week. that trixie story made me laugh so hard, she is so dumb but yet so stinkin adorable. Our neighbors, they have this little pomerianan and he is soooo cute! i sent you that picture of him once, well his name is Nova. I dont like that name, so i renamed him "perrito" which means little dog in spanish. well, after living next to me for 4 months they've gotten the hint that i love that dog. so now, every time he sees me, he goes back in and brings perrito out and lets me play with him. its so sweet. He's a precious little thing!! (the dog, not the neighbor).

My 4th of July was good. I thought for sure that being in texas there was going to be HUGE fireworks and parades and signs and all sorts of stuff, nope. there was barely fireworks at the end of the night. Plus, hispanics dont exactly celebrate 4th of July. (for the obvious reasons haha) I did take a picture tho of me doing sparklers back at our apartment after planning.  I love our district and zone leaders, those are all really good elders. we get together every p-day and we all play basketball and soccer together. Im actually surprisingly good at soccer. who knew?

this week was good but we didn't have any investigators at church, so it was a bit of a bummer. But we got some good lessons in and found some good potentials so we're looking on the bright side.   I've learned that you cant keep strawberries in the car for very long here in texas, those go bad real quick. and chapstick either, that stuff melts real quick. its been 106 degrees plus humidity here so im not a huge fan of that at all! I promised one of our zone leaders i'd make him brownies and its the first thing that ive cooked since ive been on the mish that hasnt  made the smoke alarm go off or filled the entire house with smoke.

Oh, and hispanics make this way amazing dish called...well i cant remember what its call but its basically a stuff avacado with chicken and cheese and its breaded with bread crumbs and then its slightly fried. oh its so good! i got the recipe so when i come home i'll make that for you. you'll love it! they're teaching me how to make all sorts of authentic mexican food! i learned how to make legit mexican rice, you know...the kind that sister christianson makes? ya...i can
make it! so i'll make you some of that when i come home too. you'll love it! oh my! our apartment is always filled with bugs. and BIG bugs. texas sized bugs! i am not a fan!

oh, i  love to ride my bike! but its gotten so hot that we havent been, we've just been walking. but i have def appreciated having a bike. That is so neat you signed the first vision for laura's lesson!!  i LOVE to say it in spanish! the spirit just instantly enters the room whenever you say it.

i miss you! i love you!!!

your little hermana powell :)
