Elder Cook came to our mission and spoke to us!

Hi madre!
How ya doin? This past week was fun but not a whole lot to report on. But guesssssss what!!!! Elder Cook came to our mission and spoke to us! IT ws soooooooooo good!!! Man, the spirit was SO strong!!! I will explain more about it when i call home, but it was AMAZING!!!! He is such a good speaker and when in the presence of one of the 12, it is undeniable that God still talks to man today and that we have a living prophet on the earth today and that he has 12 apostles. (i dont know how to spell that in enlgish, so i spelt it in spanish but you can tell what word im goin for).

Our week, we were not in our area at all! We were down in temple for 2 days and every other day we were up in Hurst or Arlington or Lewisville for a mission leadership meeting, an apostole and for a new trainer meeting, so we didnt get a whole lot of work done this past week :( But, we still tried our best and thats what matters. But, we didnt do too bad for only being here for 2 days. So, funny story. Last Monday we went to the park with some of the elders and we got snow cones and we were swinging on the swings and i started to spin around and twist myself in the swing, well when i was untwisting myself, i went a lot faster than anticipated and i was slaming into the pole. Well, my common sense was NOT there during that moment and instead of bringing my legs in towards me, i left them straight our and my poor ankles too all of the hit and later that night there was already bruised and massively swollen!!! So, for the next 3 days, i totally had KANKELS!!!! it was awful!! But, now the swelling has gone down and their just bruised but they totally hurt! And everyone was too busy laughing at me to tell me to pull my feet in (because for some reasons i wasnt smart enough to think of that on my own) and it wasnt until i'd hit them 7 times did i finally pull my feet in. So crazy! And, i dropped my snow cone :( worst part of it all!!!

We didnt celebrate Cino de Mayo at all! We went to a white persons house for dinner and they tried to make mexican food but after eating REAL mexican food for over a year, it was a sore disappoitment!! But, beggers cant be choosers. Im grateful that someone fed us at least, but it was not a fun holiday for us. No one was home, i swear everyone went out of town cause unlike last year, there were NO drunk men on the street, NO loud mexican music coming from every other house, and NO home! So, it was just a typical sunday night for us.

On saturday, i got to see Elder Newman, Strang and Albertson and then Hna Barrett and Olander. IT WAS THE BEST!!! It was all my favorite people from hurst!! We took a picture together and it made me so happy!! When i saw them, my heart was just so happy!! Those missionaries are my favorite for sure! I have loved all of my transfers and all of my areas, but that transfer was my most fun transfer of my mission by far!! I cant wait to tell you all the stories of things we did!

When Elder Cook came, he brought 3 members from the 70 and i have NO clue how to spell any of their last names, NON of them were american so no idea who said this, but one of them said that in his eyes, his mission president became his dad. And i agree with him 100%. I look up to President Sagers as if he was my dad. I will be eternally grateful for him and his love for me and his example.

Thank you so much mom for all that you do!! Dont think for one minute it goes un-noticed!!! I love you!!!!!!

Your little Hermana Powell
